New Year, New Me

            New Year starts for a new you.  

         New Years Day, one of the oldest of holidays, is celebrated all over the world. Most New Year celebrations focus on family and friends. It is a time to reflect on the past and welcome the New Year with hope.

         The beginning of a new year is always exciting and inspiring. It is a time to erase yesterday’s dramas and start fresh! Most people have their resolutions to start for a new one.

          This coming year, my new years resolutions are to become more confident and brave enough to face those challenges that will come to me, to become more responsible in my studies so that I will graduate, to become good to others and not become harsh.

Essence of Christmas

          We are in that special season of the year, a season of joy, of peace and of great tidings. It is a season of carols when we celebrate the birth of Christ the King, the redeemer of mankind. Jesus is the reason for season.

          Christmas is not just the time of festivity and merrymaking. It is more than that. It is a time of contemplation of eternal things. We must also spare time to reflect on the essence of the period, which is the love of God in humanity.

          At Christmas, we are expected to spare time to contemplate things eternal. We must remind ourselves that we are strangers here on earth; that our real home is in heaven, and that no matter how long we live, we shall suely die one day. We must also pray for peace in our homes, in the country and in the world at large.

          The spirit behind Christmas is that giving and sharing. We should also be like who understood the virtue in giving. It is through giving that we receive. Sometimes, the gains may not be natural but spiritual.

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities

      One of the most pervasive human rights violations is discrimination. It severely limits the ability of women, girls and the communities they live into protect and promote their health.

        

        All people should be treated similarly, unhampered by artificial barriers on prejudices or preferences. Gender, age or even religion is not the reason why people should not be treated equally. Chances should be open to everybody interested such that they have equal chances to complete within the framework of goals and the structure of rules established.

       

        Individuals should succeed or fail based on their own efforts and not extraneous circumstances such as having well-connected parents.
